In response to 2022 World Cancer Day, HOPE Foundation for Cancer Care collaborated with the Pingtung County Government to establish Taiwan’s first ever cancer-themed installation art- Ribbons of HOPE! Incorporating the different color symbols for each cancer type and Artist Mr. Eyeball’s designs, we have created artistic characters that carry educational and therapeutic purposes. This public installation art “Ribbons of HOPE” is located at Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area, Taiwan’s famous tourist attraction.
The “Ribbons of HOPE” public installation art consists of 11 characters, with each of them being 180cm tall. Its inspiration is a combination of Mr. Eyeball’s original “Think Too Much” character and the representative colors of each cancer type. On the back, you will see a quote from a cancer fighter of its type, bringing comfort and encouragements to those who are there to engage.
With its vivid colors, rounded contours and adorable design, Ribbons of HOPE had soon become a popular tourist spot, allowing the people of Taiwan to learn about cancer prevention and relative information in a relaxing setting.
