Having been active his whole life, Peter Eisenklam was shocked when at age 62 he developed a heart virus and a doctor confined him to the couch.
Unwilling to accept that, Peter researched other cardiac specialists and found someone who understood and respected his athletic desires, and the natural-born swimmer got back into the water.
What followed was more than just rehab. Peter’s resolve went to new depths. Five months after being diagnosed with the cardio virus and suffering the shock of his life, Peter was not only back swimming at the Y — he was competing in US Masters Swimming at the Arizona Senior games.
Peter blew the term “cardiac patient” out of the water.
